Special Movie Screening – Thelma & Louise

South Bay Women‘s Network is presenting a special screening of Thelma & Louise on Monday, July 7th, at 5:30 pm, doors open at 5 pm. This fundraising event takes place at the Bay Theater in Morro Bay. The film, a 1991 American crime drama, follows two friends, Thelma Dickinson and Louise Sawyer, as they set out on a weekend trip to a fishing cabin in the mountains to escape their dull routines. The trip turns dangerous when Louise kills a man who tries to assault Thelma at a bar. Fearing the law, Louise decides to flee to Mexico, and Thelma joins her.

All ticket sales will support the SBWN Scholarship Fund.

Each Sound Journey—also known as a Sound Bath—offers a gentle, immersive experience featuring a soothing soundscape created by crystal and metal singing bowls, chimes, gongs, and other therapeutic instruments. These calming sounds help ease tension, quiet the mind, and encourage a deep sense of inner peace. Complementary practices such as breathwork, rhythm, and gentle movement may also be integrated for promoting deep relaxation and restoring balance to the body and mind.

This immersive experience invites you to embrace the energy of Summer, a season of growth, abundance, and embodied joy. Through the lens of ancient teachings and the healing resonance of sound, we journey into deeper presence and integration.

Rooted in the time-honored Wisdom Teachings of the Four Directions, this gathering honors the cycles of nature and the vibrant energy within you. As the second offering in this four-part seasonal series, we now turn to the South—Summer—a time to flourish, expand, and live from the heart. Associated with the element of Fire, this direction symbolizes warmth, courage, and the power to live boldly and authentically.

Through guided experiential and reflective practices, you’ll explore how the South’s dynamic energy can support your sense of purpose, passion, and aligned action in the world.

The session will conclude with an Integrative Sound Journey, where the vibrations of crystal singing bowls, gongs, and other sacred instruments will help anchor your insights—igniting the fire within and harmonizing body, mind, and spirit.
